Windows XP
Windows XP Professional is out now, and with the included tools, it's a breeze to get connected to Atl-Connect.
Follow these instructions to get hooked up if you're running Windows XP Professional. Click here or scroll down for Mail Setup instructions.
Dial-Up Setup
- Select Start>Settings>Network and Dial-up Connections

- The "Network Connections" dialog is displayed.
Click the "Create a new connection" link in the task bar on the left
side of the dialog box.

- The "New Connection" wizard Starts and asks
what you want to do. Select "Connect to the Internet" and click

- The Wizard will ask how you want to connect to
the Internet. Select "Set up my connection manually" and click

- The Wizard asks how you want to connect to the
Internet. Select "Connect using a dial-up modem" and click

- You'll be prompted to type the name of your
ISP. Enter Atl-Connect (like the example below) and click


- You'll be prompted to enter the phone number to
dial. Enter 404 978-9706 or choose another number from the list here.
(like the example below) and click


- The Internet Account Information screen is
displayed, asking for your username and password. Fill out the
information like the example below and click


- The final screen is displayed. Make sure
the box next to "Add a shortcut to this connection to my desktop" is
checked, and click Finish.
- To connect, simply double-click the "Atl-Connect"
icon on your desktop. The connection window will be displayed
(as below). You should click the "Dial" button to intitiate the
connection.:

Setting up an Email account is simple in Windows XP using
Microsoft Outlook Express. Start Outlook Express by selecting Start >
Outlook Express. Once Outlook Express is up and running, select Tools >
Accounts from the main menu, then follow the instructions below:
- Click the "Add" button, then select "Mail..."
from the menu that pops up.

- You'll be prompted to enter your name.
Simply enter your first and last name, and click

- You'll be prompted to enter your email address.
Usually, this is something like jdoe@atlcon.net or mary@jumpon.net.
Enter your email address and click

- The Wizard next asks for the server names.
Fill out the form like the example below and click


- The Wizard asks for your logon information.
By default, Outlook Express will assume that your username is the part
of your email address up to the @ symbol. That's NOT
correct for our systems! Your username is your entire
email address. Enter your email address and password. Make
sure the "Log on using Secure Password Authentication (SPA)" box is
NOT checked, and click

- Click Finish, and you're done!
