Quota Warnings
I'm getting warning messages that say I'm in danger of exceeding my quota, but I've logged on to WebMail and I don't have any messages in my Inbox. What's going on?
This usually happens to customers who use WebMail a lot. When you delete messages in WebMail, the messages are moved to your "Deleted Items" folder. This allows you to recover a message if you make a mistake, but it also means that deleted messages continue to take up space from the 10mb you're allowed on the server.
There are a couple of solutions:
- Empty the Deleted Items folder - This will free up space that's being taken up by deleted messages.
- Log in to WebMail
- Click the Folders link on the left side
- Click the Deleted Items link in the list of folders.
- Click the X in the left column header, above the column of check boxes. This will select all of the messages that are displayed.
- Scroll to the bottom and click the Delete Selected button
- A confirmation page will be displayed showing all of the messages that will be deleted. Uncheck any you want to keep, and click the Delete Selected button.
- You may need to repeat this process several times if you have lots of messages in your Deleted Items folder.
- Purchase additional space - If you find that you're not keeping lots of messages in your Deleted Items folder, but that you simply store a lot of messages on the server and you need more space, you can purchase additional space for $1/mb per month. Just contact us at support@atlcon.net with your email address and registration number, and we'll be happy to expand your quota.
