Can I get a virus by surfing?

It is possible. It is also possible to get a computer virus from any software you buy in shrink wrap from a computer store. As always, be sure to run an anti-virus software program against any software you put on your computer, and to periodically scan your computer.

Be absolutely certain that you update your virus "signatures" at least once a month!

If you don't have anti-virus software, you may find many versions and types for free on the Internet itself (we generally recommend AVG from Grisoft -- www.grisoft.com).

Commercial offerings that are well respected include Norton AntiVirus and McAfee VirusScan.
